Part B — Service Terms & Conditions
The following summarizes the terms and conditions that apply to our services. Where you have received and accepted a written proposal, change order, or purchase order, that signed document governs and takes precedence over any summary on this Site.
Proposals and pricing. Proposals are valid for thirty (30) days from the date issued. Pricing is based on current material and labour costs and may be adjusted if commencement is delayed beyond the validity period. Scheduling is confirmed only upon receipt of a signed and accepted proposal.
Scope of work and change orders. Any work not explicitly outlined in the proposal is considered additional work and requires a written change order at additional cost. Additional or necessary work outside the original scope is performed on a time-and-materials basis at $75.00/hour, including travel time where required. Change orders are valid for 30 days and must be signed, dated, and returned before the project is scheduled.
Standards. All work is completed in a professional manner in accordance with industry standards and applicable codes, including Occupational Health and Safety regulations. Project timelines are estimates and may be affected by factors beyond our control, including inspections, site conditions, material availability, strikes, accidents, weather, labour disruptions, or unforeseen delays.
Warranty. We provide a two (2) year workmanship warranty on all labour and installation completed under the agreement. Materials supplied are covered under their respective manufacturer warranties (up to twenty-five (25) years where applicable) and only to the extent provided by the manufacturer. This warranty applies to defects in workmanship under normal residential use and does not cover damage from misuse, neglect, alterations by others, or conditions beyond our control. Warranty claims must be submitted in writing within the applicable warranty period.
Payment terms. Payment is due in full upon completion of the project and issuance of invoice, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Progress payments may be required for larger or extended projects. Approved change orders and additional work are invoiced separately and payable upon completion of that work. Late payments may be subject to interest at 2% per month (24% annually). We do not accept credit card payments. Payment is made by cheque or through our payment platform (Plooto).
Cancellation policy. By accepting a proposal, you acknowledge that we schedule employees, subcontractors, permits, materials, and other resources in advance. Any cancellation, postponement, denial of access, or failure to proceed within fourteen (14) days of the scheduled start date may result in charges for labour, subcontractor costs, permits, materials, lost wages, and other expenses incurred. Projects cancelled within forty-eight (48) hours of the scheduled start date are subject to a cancellation charge equal to fifty percent (50%) of the contract value or the actual costs and damages incurred, whichever is greater. This charge represents a reasonable estimate of the costs of reserving labour, scheduling resources, obtaining permits, and preparing for the project.
Access and existing conditions. Accessing plumbing systems may require cutting into walls, ceilings, cabinetry, vanities, tile, flooring, and other finished surfaces. Existing materials may be brittle, aged, or previously repaired and may be damaged during necessary access. In some areas, cabinet backs, vanity interiors, shelving, wainscoting, built-in finishes, or tub skirts may need to be cut, modified, or removed to reach water lines. Repair, reinstallation, or replacement of cabinetry, millwork, finished wood, or tub skirts is not included unless specifically stated in writing; we can recommend qualified contractors on request.
Finishes and texture matching. Drywall repair, texture blending, and paint matching are completed to industry standards; a perfectly seamless match is not guaranteed. Variations may occur due to age, lighting, previous repairs, paint build-up, and material differences, and “new to old” transitions may be visible, particularly on ceilings. Full surface refinishing (such as complete ceiling repainting or retexturing) can be quoted separately and is not included unless specified in writing.
Dust and clean-up. Dust control measures (floor protection, poly barriers, and vacuuming) are implemented; however, fine drywall dust is unavoidable. Additional post-project cleaning, including furnace and duct cleaning, is recommended but not included.
Asbestos and hazardous materials. We do not perform asbestos or hazardous material testing, abatement, or environmental assessments. It is the homeowner’s responsibility to confirm whether asbestos or other hazardous materials are present before work begins and to arrange testing through a qualified third party if there is any uncertainty. Any related delays, costs, testing, abatement, or remediation are not included and remain the homeowner’s responsibility. We can provide contact information for testing providers on request.
Exclusions. Unless explicitly included in writing, we are not responsible for: removal or replacement of furniture, appliances, or personal belongings; damage to exterior finishes (e.g., siding, trim) or interior finishes (e.g., tile, flooring, tubs) required to access plumbing; tile removal or replacement; or pre-existing cracks, deficiencies, or structural issues. We will make every reasonable effort to restore affected areas as closely as possible to their original condition.
Insurance. All workers are fully covered under Workers’ Compensation Insurance (WCB).
